This area is now a top economic hub, bustling with both commercial and political activity, and attracting many visitors due to its rich history and diverse attractions and the first stop will be at two significant historical sites: the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek Center and the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum. Both locations are poignant reminders of Cambodia’s tragic past during the Khmer Rouge era. Within the palace grounds, we’ll also explore the beautiful Silver Pagoda, renowned for its impressive architecture and the serene atmosphere it offers.
Our next stop is Wat Phnom, the historical site believed to be the birthplace of the capital city, Phnom Penh. This peaceful temple offers stunning views of the city and afterward, we will continue to Wat Ounalom, the largest monastery in Phnom Penh. It is not only an important spiritual site but also a cultural center for Cambodian Buddhism and then visit the Independence Monument, a symbol of Cambodia’s independence from French colonial rule, and the statue of the King Father, honoring the legacy of King Norodom Sihanouk and the last stop for the day will be the Central Market (Phsar Thmei), built during the colonial period. This market is a great place to shop for local goods and souvenirs, offering a vibrant atmosphere and a variety of unique items.

Along the way, we will visit several interesting attractions, starting with Skun, a Cambodian town known for hosting one of the most unusual markets in the world. At first glance, it might appear to be just another typical market in Asia, but it specializes in a unique product you won’t find in many places. The Skun Market has gained worldwide fame for its fried spider snacks. Among the stalls filled with fruits and vegetables, you'll see women carrying large trays of fried and spiced spiders, some as large as a grown man's palm.
