  • Day 8: From Kratie to Phnom Penh via Kampong Cham – Culture, Sustainability & Unique Markets

    On the morning after breakfast at hotel departure from Kratie to Phnom Penh and drive through Kampng Cham province and on the way stop to visit the most highlight attraction in Kampong Cham city, it is the third largest city of Cambodia and it have many beautiful sites and first go to visit the beautiful monastery Dei Dos and then continue to visit Cheung Kok Eco Village is a lovely traditional village patronized that supports efforts towards a more sustainable rural life. The villagers grow rice but as they can only harvest a single crop a year, they are also looking for alternative lines of activity like silk worm growing and ecotourism. One can imagine what the village life feels by walking the soil paths and wandering the courtyards, as well as to study the traditional house on posts. The people we met were most hospitable and our tour guide explained everything about the local life and after explore these sites continue to continue to visit Skun, it is the Cambodian town of Skun host one of the most unusual markets in the world. At first sight, it looks like any other market in Asia, but it does focus on a product you won't find in many other places. Skun market has become a world-famous tourist attraction, due to the fried spider snacks that are so popular here. Among all the fruit and vegetable stands, you'll see women carrying large trays, full of fried and spiced spiders, some the size of a grown man's palm. Spiders are eaten in various areas….. And then continue to Phnom Penh. Overnight in Phnom Pehn

    On the morning after breakfast at the hotel transfer to explore the capital city Phnom Pehn and this area now is top economic zone of Cambodia with commercial and politic with many tourists attraction site and we go to see first the historical site around the city and to visit  Killing field at Cheung Ek Genocide Center  and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, our professional guide will explain you more about this place to rich you more information of the Khmer Rouge, it was powered between 1975 to 1979. After that transfer back to restaurant for lunch, before transfer to visit Royal Palace , Silver Pagoda the home of the royal family and the treasure place in Cambodia and then continue to visit Independence Monument, Statue of Sihanouk Norodom, Wat Odnaloam, Wat Phnom , it was the former of the capital city Phnom Pehn that located in the center of the capital city nowadays  and then continue to visit the Central Market and it is the famous market in the capital city Phnom Pehn that this building was built by the France architecture in the colonial period and there are a lot of deference things sell in this market and after that transfer back to hotel.
